Shark EVO-ES flip up modular Motorcycle Helmet Yari Black/Red/White
The Shark EVO-ES is the latest entry into the everyday 180-degree flip up helmet segment. The EVO-ES marks the next generation of the Shark Evoline 3. A more affordable version of the Shark Evo One 2, the EVO-ES offers 2 outer shell sizes alongside a multi-density EPS liner, a drop-down sun visor, and a new aerodynamic spoiler. The Shark EVO-ES will also be competing with the Roof BoXXer Carbon, Nolan N100-5 Plus, and the HJC i-90.
Material
The Shark EVOES uses an outer shell made of injected thermoplastic resin for effective impact protection. The modular helmet is also offered in 2 outer shell sizes, which is the standard number for Shark helmets. The advantage of multiple outer shell sizes is it ensures the helmet fits the wearer more proportionally and it also means that it will have a more appropriate weight.
The chin bar of the EVO-ES, like the Evo One 2, also flips 180 degrees, allowing you to use the helmet as either an open face or a full-face helmet. Thanks to the auto up/auto down system, the visor lifts out of the way of the chin guard when raising or lowering it.
Ventilation
For ventilation, the EVO ES motorcycle helmet uses an air intake in the chin, two adjustable vents in the brow, and 2 exhaust vents in the rear of the helmet. However, if these vents don’t provide enough air flow, then the helmet can always be opened into the jet position with the touch of just one hand to allow air onto the rest of the face. The aerodynamics have also been further improved thanks to CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) design.
Visor
The visor of the Shark EVO-ES uses Shark’s VZ 150 visor with anti-scratch and anti-fog coating. The face shield is large and offers a wide field of view while the helmet’s UV-380 labeled drop-down sun visor helps prevent glare. To make changing visors easier, the helmet also uses a quick release system.
Liner
The liner of the EVO-ES helmet is Shark’s “Bird Eyes” liner fabric for superior comfort and feel. The liner fits glasses, is prepared for the Sharktooth Prime intercom, and is removable and washable. The helmet also comes with a breath guard that is easy to install thanks to magnets and a retractable design.
Summary
The Shark EVO-ES helmet offers a plenty of excellent features at an affordable price. With a similar design to the famous Shark Evo One2, the EVO ES may be a little bit simpler but no less useful out on the road. With its 180 flip up capability and quality liner, this is a great everyday helmet.
